Course Objective
The aim of the Accessible/Universal Design course is to provide students with the knowledge and awareness necessary to design accessible, safe, inclusive, and sustainable spaces that consider the physical, sensory, and social needs of different user groups. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to integrate accessible/universal design principles with green building applications and develop human- and environment-oriented solutions.
Brief Content of the Course
The course aims to develop awareness and understanding of the fundamental principles and applications of b accessible/universal design through the examination of concepts such as accessible/universal design; accessibility standards and legislation; the effects of diverse user needs on spatial design; accessible building solutions for everyone (children, adults, pregnant individuals, older adults, people with disabilities, animals, the environment, etc.); sustainable and inclusive environmental design; and exemplary solutions within green building applications.
