Course Objective
To reveal the relationships between history and communication. To give a critical view of the concepts of history and communication. To examine the studies on communication and history within the framework of different paradigms. To examine the historical development of communication tools. To examine the dominant forms of communication from the beginning to the present. To reveal the relations between history, history writing, knowledge, power and dominant communication forms. To reveal why it is important to analyze within the framework of social, political, cultural and economic relations of the period examined in communication historical analysis.
Brief Content of the Course
The concept of history, information, communication, oral and written culture, mass media and media concepts are emphasized, the events and facts related to them are evaluated around historical and social contexts.
