In response to strong demand and feedback from our students, and as part of our Continuous Improvement efforts, an extracurricular professional practice activity was conducted in our First and Emergency Aid Program.
The activity, titled "Suturing and Removing with Normal and Stapler Sutures," was held in our First and Emergency Aid Application Laboratory on June 1st and 4th, 2026. Due to the high level of student interest, it was conducted in two sessions.
The activity was led by Dr. Emre Karasu, a faculty member of our program. Students had the opportunity to experience suturing and removing techniques with both normal and stapler sutures firsthand, improving their knowledge and skills regarding procedural steps, correct techniques, and aseptic practices.
Organized in line with our student-centered educational approach, this extracurricular activity contributed to students' ability to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice and provided significant support for the development of their professional competencies. Our program continues to conduct application-based training activities that support the professional development of our students.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated.
